Today I am thankful
Many family’s have a tradition of going around the table to say what they are thankful for. My family has never really done this. We are at my in law’s this year, and they don’t really either. One of the things I am thankful for is my extended online family, so I thought if share some others with you.
First and one of the most important is family. My daily family, my husband and furkids. They all drive me up the wall sometimes, but I cannot see my life with out them. They are behind everything I do. My extended family, siblings, parents, in laws, blood relation or not. I don’t think I need to say more about family. We all know how they are and what they mean to us.
My health. I have spent enough time in my life sick or misdiagnosed. It has never been serious, but sickness and surgery the same. I’m celebrating this year free from kidney stones, the first time in two years.
My time in the military. It has enabled me to have a better understanding of what my husband is dealing with right now. Plus how many people get to sleep in a Kevlar vest and helmet with an M-16 on their chest? I am thankful for my experience during deployment and for all those who serve. I am especially thankful to those who are deployed right now serving way from their family. I did it for two years in a row, I understand the heartache and loneliness. I hope you find something to be thankful for and a way to celebrate.
On a less serious note, a few modern conveniences I am thankful for. High heels, caffeine, toilet paper, deodorant, bras/boobs, the cellphone I am typing this from, I could just keep going.
But back to the important things. To anyone reading this, I wish you love, good food, good company, and good memories.
